Emmanuel UMC is located in the historic village of Morattico, Virginia. The current building was founded in 1898.

The first church house of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church was dedicated on September 16, 1893, at a location east of the present site. In 1897, the first church building was destroyed by fire, and another building was erected and completed east of the first building around 1898. The church bell, which may still be seen in front of the present Emmanuel Church, was donated in the year 1900. Originally partnering with Bethel, Irvington, and White Marsh churches, in 1970 the partnership was formalized as a 2 church charge of Bethel and Emmanuel United Methodist Churches, a partnership that continues to this day.

Emmanuel UMC holds services every Sunday at 9:30 am.
